Research

Research

The National Veterinary Institute DTU does research in infectious diseases. The main focus is on domestic animal diseases which have major consequences for the Danish agriculture. We also focus on zoonoses, which can infect humans.

We work with basic research as well as application-oriented, where the objective often is to develop effective vaccines or diagnostic tools. The work spans from the molecular level to whole animals, to populations and global spread of diseases.

The institute's research is the main requisite for conveying the newest veterinary knowledge to the authorities, businesses, and students.
