In two pig farms with clinical symptoms
of PCVD and circulation of
PCV2, vaccination was instituted
with 2 ml of Porcilis PCV given once
at around 4 (3-5) weeks of age.
Vaccinations resulted in a uniform
serological response. In one farm,
where vaccinated pigs were reared
separated from non-vaccinated
from weaning through to slaughter,
the viraemia was prevented. In
the other farm viraemia was reduced
with at least 2 log(10) units,
even though pigs were housed in
the same pen as non-vaccinated
and viraemic pigs. In this herd a
statistically significant (+ 39 g) average
daily weight gain was accomplished
in vaccinated pigs compared
to non-vaccinated during the
period 8-16 weeks after weaning.
It was concluded that vaccination
with Porcilis PCV reduced the virus
load in infected pigs, and vaccination
had a positive impact on daily
weight gain.I to besætninger med forekomst af
Porcint Circovirus type 2 (PCV2) og
lette kliniske symptomer på Porcin
Circovirus Disease (PCVD) blev vaccination
med Porcilis PCV gennemført
ved injektion af 2 ml 1 gang
ved ca. 4 (3-5) ugers alderen. Resultaterne
viste, at vaccination gav
et ensartet serologisk respons. I
den ene besætning, hvor vaccinerede
grise blev opstaldet adskilt
fra ikke-vaccinerede fra fravænning
til slagtning, forhindrede vaccination
viraemi. I den anden besætning
blev PCV2-niveauet i serum
reduceret med mindst 2 log(10)
enheder, selvom grisene befandt
sig i et smittet miljø med direkte
kontakt med ikke-vaccinerede og
viraemiske stifæller. I denne besætning
blev en signifikant øget daglig
tilvækst på 39 g registreret i perioden
fra 8-16 uger efter fravænning
hos vaccinerede grise sammenholdt
med ikke-vaccinerede.
Undersøgelsen konkluderer, at vaccination
med Porcilis PCV reducerede
virusniveauet i de inficerede
grise, samt havde en positiv indflydelse
på grisenes vækst. |
