My main research area is in descriptive and quantitative
epidemiology, surveillance and control of infectious and zoonotic
diseases in animals. My activities involve qualitative and
quantitative risk modelling, and risk factor studies. Results are
used for scientifically-based advice to veterinary and food
authorities, farmers’ organisations, and international
organisations e.g. EFSA. From 2008, participating in the zoonoses
collaborating centre (ZCC) for EFSA, assisting EFSA in
collecting, analysing and presenting data in the Community
Summary Report on Zoonoses. I contribute to the validation and
analysing of data, writing of pathogen chapters, as well as
carrying out editiorial work.
