Education

The National Veterinary Institute DTU has established the “Ph.D.-school for veterinary biology and technology” (VETBIT) in the area of infectious diseases of livestock.

As the name of the school indicates, it focuses on the interaction between biology (knowledge of the infectious microorganisms, host response and development of disease) and technology, i.e. the development of techniques for studies of the nature of disease – use of bioinformatic technologies for in-silico identification of suitable vaccine candidates, process optimisation for new vaccines, use of mathematic models to predict spread of disease, development of chip-based diagnostic methods and development of ICT systems for research in diseases and welfare of  livestock and companion animals.

Leader of the Ph.D.-school at the National Veterinary Institute DTU is Kristian Møller
