The laboratories of the National Veterinary Institute DTU carry out accredited analyses. the institute is acrredited by DANAK (The Danish Accreditation and Metrology Fund).
The purpose of this quality assurance system is to ensure and document the quality of the analyses and examinations performed, and the institute’s function as a reference laboratory. The quality system also ensures that customers’ and public authorities’ need for relevant and correct examinations and advisory service is satisfied.
Accreditations and lists of methods
The National Veterinary Institute DTU is situated in three locations. Each location/division has its own accreditation according to the ISO 17025 standard (testing/performance of analyses). One division has also been accredited according to the ISO 17043 standard (provision of proficiency testing).
Division of Veterinary Diagnostics and Research has had a number of analyses accredited. Furthermore, the division holds a section 39 authorization from the Danish Medicines Agency to produce vaccines and sera for production animals. The Danish Medicines Agency issues the authorization after an inspection according to GMP-rules, the Medicines Act and Executive Order 1242 on production and import of medicinal products and intermediates.
